There will be a Informational Assembly on Friday, October 29th, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. at Grossmont College in room/auditorium #220 (park in lot 1). Click here to download the flyer. Intro. to US Healthcare Fall 2004
Class is scheduled to begin November 8th - December 15th, 2004 every Monday and Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. The Section Number for this course is 5611 and the title is "Introduction to U.S. Healthcare". First class will be at the Grossmont Healthcare District Auditorium (9001 Wakarusa Street, La Mesa, CA 91942). Please contact us for directions if needed.

This is an INTENSIVE 10-week program held every Saturday AND Sunday for EIGHT (8) hours each day! There will be five (5) specialty instructors that will teach specific areas along with a lab instructor to assist review utilizing the NCLEX 3000 software. EMT Certification Course
There will be a refresher course for International Medical Graduates who would like to challenge the EMT exam and become Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). The start date of this program is yet to be announced. There will be six (6) classes held on Wednesday for six (6) weeks. Fee is $106 (lecture and lab) and $65 for text books. Fees to be paid to the Grossmont Health Career Center. If you are interested in attending please contact the Welcome Back Center to put your name on the interest list for this Workshop.

Career Fairs

There will be FREE employment assistance fairs for Spring 2005. The following are two (2) fairs the Welcome Back Center is referring participants to:
Cuyamaca College will host the 11th Annual Career Fair on April 27th, 2005 from 9:00 a.m. - 12 noon on the college campus "grand lawn" area. Call 619.660.4450 for more information. The Scripps Research Institute is holding a career fair on May 25, 2005 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the "Beckman Center Galleria" at 10650 N. Torrey Pines Road, La Jolla.

Provides entry-level training leading to State of California certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant/Home Health Aide. Provides instruction in basic patient care and clinical experiences in long-term, skilled care, and home care settings. I.V. Therapy Certificate for Licensed Nurses: (posted 07.21.05_removed 9.30.05)
This in-depth 35 hour course for RNs and LVNs includes starting and superimposing I.V. fluids and involvement with equipment for administration of parenteral solutions (blood/components, hyperalimentation, and CVP monitoring. The course meets the criteria for certification of LVNs. 30 contact hours for LVNs and 4 contact hours for RNs.There will be TWO seperate classes: one will be held 8.31.05– 10.26.05 on Wednesdays from 5:00 pm to 9:30 pm.
